Follow Your Manufacturer's Instructions on Changing Your Vehicle's Engine Oil

You need to know when to change your vehicle engine oil not only because it's bad to neglect doing so, but also because it's bad to change it too frequently. You've probably been used to changing it every 3,000 miles, but that could be too much with today's vehicles. Many vehicles are designed to travel much further than 3,000 miles between oil changes, so adhere to what your vehicle manufacturer says about oil changes.

Why You Should Stop With The 3,000-mile Oil Changes

Changing your oil every 3,000 miles isn't going to help your vehicle any, and there's a couple other reasons you shouldn't do it:

  1. You're only your money and wasting oil that could be driven on for longer.
  2. You're hurting the environment by having excess oil dumped.

At our dealership, we'll only change your oil if it needs to be changed and let you know when you should return for your next change. Just give us a call or come by our location in Austin any time we're open.
