The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund released information that showed 150 officers have lost their lives as a result of motorists not following the laws pertaining to Move Over laws. These officers are being needlessly struck by motorists while working and it could be avoided if more drivers even knew the laws existed.
The National Safety Commission sponsored a poll that showed approximately 71 percent of drivers in the United States had never even heard of the laws. Since all 50 states have these laws in effect, more drivers need to be informed. The law is simple, if you see a police car with flashing lights on the side of the road, safely slow down and begin to change lanes to provide as much room as possible.
Jaguar Austin is hoping to inform as many in the state as to the Move Over laws to help protect our law enforcement officers.
